Suwanna of Siam is the first movie in Thailand which was directed by Mr.Henry A. Mccray from Universal Company in 1922 and the movie was shown for the first time in 1923 in Thailand. This movie was made in Bangkok,Thailand . The royal palace, Emerald Buddha Temple, Wat Arun Temple , Wat Pho Temple, Hua Hin,Chiangnmai and Bangpainn  are the scenes of the movies. The main female character is Ms.Sangeam Nawesatean who is Ms. Suwanna of Siam, like the movie’s name. The plot is very simply. The gorgeous man from the city fell in love with a woman at the first sight after he helped her from submergence but there was a competitor who wanted to marry her. That man is Mr.Klahan, that woman is Ms. Suwanna and the competitor is Mr.Krongkeaw. At that time, the woman was not allowed to touch the man and be touch by the man, so, the movie had just few love scenes which were allowed to touch hands only. The main character’s purpose was to promulgate the country, to make Thailand be famous to foreigner’s eyes. The movie was shown in Thailand in the name Suwanna of Siam but it was called Kingdom of Heaven in America. After 3 day in Thai theater, the original film is missing and the left film was damaged. There are just some pictures from the movie left in the museum.
