I am such a procker (a rocker with a slight punky edge- my own neologism, still pending dictionary entry-555). So I recommend the following bands to you: The Pixies, The B-52s, Mission to Burma, Fugazi, The Breeders. I think you might like them. Definitely ancient skool (pre-old skool), classic, the original, and the inspiration for what you hear now. I love music!!!
