BlackBerry
- History of BlackBerry : Researchers in Motion firm of Canada are the inventors of this product in1999. In 2001, BlackBerry was only a small pager it had black & white screen and knob. It had a similar keyboard to computer and you can just send or receive message but now this product is fully developed since it has Push Mail Technology, BlackBerry Messenger Program for chatting between BlackBerry users and you can be always online and get connected.
- Why called BlackBerry ? From the article “How 10 Famous Technology Products Got Their Names”, it said that the owners of BlackBerry employed Lexicon Branding firm to create the name of this brand new product. For this product, you can use e-mail but avoid to call it “e-mail” because this word stimulates blood pressure. The firm saw many knobs on mobile and thought that they were similar to seeds of plants .They tried to create many names of this such as strawberry and melon. Finally, the name “blackberry” has been chosen because it sounds sweet and has all black body. Besides, the Webster's New World College Dictionary called it “Crackberry” because you will become like crackers every time you use it.

I think it is called "crackberry" because they are addictive, like crack cocaine.

FYI, "go crackers" is an old fashioned idiom. My grandmother would say it, but no one does any more. "Cracker" is also black slang for a white person. As in, "That cracker can't dance." 555
"Cracker" it is also somewhat old slang.
