Propaganda” was entitled by Papa Gregorius Sextus Decimus XV.

Propaganda or Congregatio de Propaganda Fide ("Congregation for the Spreading of the Faith")” In the past, they used it in order to spread of the faith and the beliefs to the people for propagate Catholicism. It was psychological operations, because propaganda was used to arouse human’s subconscious. If the propaganda were misused they could control some innocent people to become victims. Some propaganda did not give information but they comprised of only exaggerative phrases to capture attention. After that, some propaganda has been used for warfare or politics. Then, we are using it for marketing. If we believe it without consideration, we will become propaganda slaves.

“Because of Its goal from the beginning, perfectly openly and consciously, was to 'control the public mind,' as they put it. The reason was that the public mind was seen as the greatest threat to corporations" - Noam Chomsky, Propaganda and Control of the Public Mind book. We can refer that propaganda is more than ordinary advertisement. The unwanted propaganda looks deceptive that we shall contemplate before trusting it.

In the other hand, propagandas have made some consumers becoming the consumerism. Propaganda overwhelms one's mentality, being motivated without noticing that oneself is being consumed by product instead. At the present, consumerism is the big problem in every country, as a result of brand and the advertising.

You have tickled me pink by mentioning Chomsky.
The point of advertising and propaganda these days is to overwhelm us so much that we don't know what is real anymore. This confusion makes us more malleable and ripe for indoctrination. We sort of lose our way in the inundation of messages. Who are we? Advertisements will tell us who we should be.
We need to see through the false promises, wrong information, seduction of "misreality", and if that's not enough, all the other lies.
Even though I may sound like an angry ranter, I think in uncovering the truth we can actually create a better, more harmonious world. The search for the truth may be a struggle, but it is through struggle that many cultures are defined.
